Themes & Challenge Statements ๐Ÿ‘พ


There are 3 overall themes which you can choose to build your project on in this hackathon. Under each theme, we have listed some potential challenge statements to help guide your team in coming up with an implementable idea for your project.
However, if you have an idea that does not fall into any of the challenge statements stated below, do not fret! We are also accepting ideas outside of the challenge statements stated below, as long as they fall within any of the 3 themes.

Building new platforms, avenues and mechanisms for us to grow our Fanatics customer base
Some potential challenge statements which you can look at:
  • How can we integrate with social media platforms to acquire new customers?
    • For example: Micro-moments captures, feed anomalies-based demand signals, trends sentiment analysis, social media/discussion boards listening, product discussions etc.
  • How can we expand into the ever-growing e-sports/virtual sports community?
    • For example: E-sports/virtual sports platforms integrations, etc.
  • How can we tap into sports moments to capture new customers?
    • For example: Sports moments platforms/feeds integrations, news, live events etc.
  • How can we build new capabilities to enhance our charity-based events offerings?
    • For example: All-In-Challenge, etc.

Redefining the ways new customers interact with and experience the Fanatics brand & Developing new value propositions to strengthen Fanatics' position as a steadfast partner for our customers
Some potential challenge statements which you can look at:
  • How can we redefine the way customers experience our website?
    • For example: Virtual reality experiences, voice capabilities, messaging systems, chatbots, real-time alerts
  • How can we build the next-frontier product capabilities?
    • For example: Early access systems, product discovery capabilities, checkout experience betterment, product review & feedback capabilities, create/share Wishlist, save products, size chart enhancements, accessibility, personalization and internationalization
  • How can we better assess, predict and categories our fans' holistic lifetime value?
    • For example: Customer information consolidation, lifecycle or lifetime value-based personalization offerings, etc.
  • How can we improve the way we deliver?
    • For example: Increased delivery speed, Stopping/reducing oversells, application of robotics or blockchain in our supply chains, etc.
  • How can we enhance the self-service capabilities for our customers to reduce the need for manual servicing?
    • For example: Enhancements/improvements to the way customers can process cancellations, exchanges, returns, refunds and order modifications, and self-manage their profile (e.g. address book, shipping methods), etc.
  • How can we improve the way we service and communicate with our customers?
    • For example: Interactive Voice Response (IVR) upgrades, Fanbot enhancements, Fanassist automations and/or AI integrations, service ticket submission and/or generation upgrades, brand reputation management, complaints management, delay/failure notifications etc.
  • How can we further improve the security of our platforms?
    • For example: Securing customer data, protection against bots, credit card data protections, GDPR compliance, etc.
  • How can we improve Fanaticsโ€™ย NPS and decrease contact per order?

Harnessing the power of technology to establish and enable new ways of working
Some potential challenge statements which you can look at:
  • How can we create tools/touch-points to ensure a better workplace for the Fanatics family?
    • For example: Wellbeing and mental health apps/tools, virtual collaboration tools, gamified employee dashboards, etc.
  • How can we upgrade our data capabilities (Discover-Data-Derive)?
    • For example: Data visualizations, data reporting, data catalog management, data discovery, data cleanup, vendor data integration enhancements, etc.
  • How can we design and develop tools to improve internal processes and increase productivity?
    • For example: Productivity enhancements for Architects, Developers, Product Managers, Processes, Logging/Monitoring/ServiceNow/APM tools process automation, CI/CD pipeline improvements via automated build checks, chaos engineering, etc.
