Team Formation & Registration Guide 👥
Team Registrations for FanHack 2022 are now closed. However we have still kept the Free Agent/Teams Directory Portal (towards the far right of this page) to ensure you can edit your profiles with last minute details like T Shirt Sizes, Themes you are hacking on or the team name (if its Misspelled and you name is not showing under the actual team in the Teams Directory here. It would be highly recommended not to switch your teams at this point but just update the necessary details.
Team Registration Guide and Free Agent Profile
Participants are free to choose the teams members they collaborated with for FanHack 2021. However, we highly recommend to view the Free Agents Directory and connect with different Fanatics colleagues from across the globe and collaborate with these individuals to form teams. This will help ideation and get perspectives of different hackers from across geographies.
Tip: Even if you’re hacking SOLO, you still need to register as a solo team to qualify for prizes. Refer to point 2 below on how to do so.
Each team can have 1 member (hacking solo) or up to a maximum of 5 members.

Tell us more about yourself by updating your Free Agent Profile
- Access the 'FREE AGENTS PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your first name, last name and the email you used to register for the hackathon
- Under ‘Slack Username’, drop your details here for other participants to contact you for networking or team formation opportunities
- Under ‘Interested Theme’, choose the hackathon theme you wish to work on so that other participants looking to work on the same theme as you can connect with you for team formation opportunities
- List down your skillsets, and the skillsets you wish to work wish under ‘Your Tech & Non-tech Skillsets’ & ‘Which Tech & Non-tech skillsets do you require in your team?’ respectively.
- You may choose to fill in the rest of the form or ignore them
- Click ‘Save Changes’ and you’re done!
- Head over to the Free Agents Directory to check if your profile has been updated
Decided to hack solo? Set up your solo team
- Access the 'FREE AGENTS PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your first name, last name and the email you used to register for the hackathon
- Under Team Status, select the option ‘I am hacking solo’ and complete the rest of the form by following the instructions on the form
- Click ‘Save’ and you’re done!
- Head over to the Teams Directory to check if your name appears in the solo team you’ve formed.
Found an existing team to join?
- Access the 'FREE AGENTS PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your first name, last name and the email you used to register for the hackathon
- Under Team Status, select the option ‘I am in a team’ and complete the rest of the form by following the instructions on the form
- When asked to enter Team Name, enter the name of the team you wish to join with the same spelling, capitalization, use of hyphens, etc.
- Click ‘Save’ and you’re done!
- Head over to the Teams Directory to check if your name appears in the team you’ve registered to join
Setting up a new team? Register your team
- Access the 'FREE AGENTS PORTAL' here or via the button above
- Enter your first name, last name and the email you used to register for the hackathon
- Under Team Status, select the option ‘I am in a team’ and complete the rest of the form by following the instructions on the form
- Click ‘Save’ and you’re done!
- Head over to the Teams Directory to check if your name appears in the team you’ve formed.
Search for other like-minded Free Agents to team up with
- Go to the Free Agents Directory
- Browse through the directory to search for other like-minded Free Agents to team up with
- If you would like to search for individuals with specific skills, you may:
- Select the filter button on the top left corner
- Select 'Add condition'
- Select filter by 'Fanatics Team' or ‘Theme’ depending on the type of hacker you’d like to search for
- Key in the skillsets you are looking for
- Voilà! You should now only see profiles with the skillsets you are looking for
- Connect with them over the Hackathon Slack channel and see if they'd like to form a team!
Search for open teams who are still looking to add members
- Go to the Teams Directory Database
- To search for open teams who are still looking to add members:
- From the top left corner of the directory database, click on the filter button
- Select ‘Add condition’
- Add a filter where 'Team fully formed?' is with the following parameters

d. Voilà! You should now only see teams which are looking to add members
- Connect with them over Hackathon Slack channel to see if they'd like to have you on their team!

Team Profile Guide
Tip: All team member(s) must register under the same team name (with the same spelling, capitalization, use of hyphens, etc.) for everyone to show up under the same team in the Teams Directory.
Tip: You can update your team name and other information directly from the Teams Directory Portal. Keep in mind that it is crucial to have your Team Information up-to-date.

Changed your mind about hacking solo and wish to have team members?
- Access the 'TEAMS DIRECTORY PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your team name to access the form
- Click ‘Edit Details’ on your profile card
- Under ‘Team Status’, select the option ‘I am in a team’
- Complete the rest of the form by following the instructions on the form
- Head back to the Teams Directory and hit the refresh button; your new team's profile should now be updated and shown
Update your hacker’s profile
- Access the 'TEAMS DIRECTORY PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your team name to access the form
- Click ‘Edit Details’ on the your own profile
- Under ‘Slack Username’, drop your details where other participants can contact you for networking or team joining requests
- Under ‘Interested Theme’, choose the hackathon theme you/your team wish to work on so that other participants looking to work on the same theme can connect with you for team formation opportunities
- List down your skillsets, and the skillsets you/your team wish to work wish under ‘Your Tech & Non-tech Skillsets’ & ‘Which Tech & Non-tech skillsets do you require in your team?’ respectively.
- You may choose to fill in the rest of the form or ignore them
- Click ‘Save Changes’ and you’re done
*Appoint only 1 member to display the team's profile. Otherwise, team leaders must ensure that your team's profile is consistent across all members by updating for all members in the team using the ‘Edit Details’ button on their profile card.
[For Team Leaders] Update the number of team members in your team
- Access the 'TEAMS DIRECTORY PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your team name to access the form
- Click ‘Edit Details’ on the team leader’s profile
- Under ‘How many people in team?’, select the correct number
- Click ‘Save Changes’ and you’re done
*Appoint only 1 member to display the number of people in the team. Otherwise, team leaders must ensure that your team's profile is consistent across all members by updating for all members in the team using the ‘Edit Details’ button on their profile card.
[For Team Leaders] Looking to add members or your team is fully formed? Remember to change your team status
- Access the 'TEAMS DIRECTORY PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your team name to access the form
- Click ‘Edit Details’ on the first profile
- Under ‘Team Fully Formed?’, select the option 'Looking to add members' OR 'Team is fully formed' depending on your team’s formation status
- Click ‘Save Changes’
- Repeat for the other members of the team
*Team leaders must ensure that your team's status is consistent across all members by updating for all members in the team using the ‘Edit Details’ button on their profile card. This is to prevent confusion for other participants in knowing whether your team is still open to add members or not.
[For Individual Members] Can't find yourself in your team? Misspelled your team name? Update it
- Access the 'TEAMS DIRECTORY PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your team name to access the form
- Click ‘Edit Details’ on your profile
- Under ‘Team Name’, type in the correct spelling of the team
- Click ‘Save Changes’ and you’re done
- Head back to the Teams Directory page and hit the refresh button; you should now be reflected and shown under your correct team name
[For Individual Members] Want to change your team? Update your registered team
- Access the 'TEAMS DIRECTORY PORTAL' on the right
- Enter your team name to access the form
- Click ‘Edit Details’ on your profile
- Under ‘Team Name’, type in the new team name
- Click ‘Save Changes’ and you’re done
- Head back to the Teams Directory page and hit the refresh button; you should now be reflected and shown under your new team
